For 27 years, Massachusetts-based builder Boston Boatworks built hundreds of composite boats between 29 and 62 feet. The company started out by building high-performance, high-tech custom sailboats followed by expedition tenders, Coast Guard certified passenger vessels and a lot of MJMs.

But recently, the team at Boston Boatworks asked themselves, “What if?” What if they came up with their own powerboat design, a brand that could combine extreme functionality with refined luxury? To answer that question, they joined forces with naval architect and long-time partner Doug Zurn, and design studio Winch Design, which created the exteriors and interiors of some of the world’s most iconic superyachts, private aircraft and residential properties.

The result? The BB52 and the BB44. Both models are part of a new Boston Boatworks Offshore Express Cruiser series.

BB44

The BB44 will be 49 feet, 3 inches LOA with a 14-foot, 10-inch beam. She will be powered by twin Volvo Penta D6 engines with DPI Aquamatic Drives that produce a cruise speed of 32 knots and a top end near 36 knots. With a 10 percent fuel reserve, the 44 will have a range of 325 nautical miles.

The BB44 can feature a one- or two-stateroom layout. The owner’s cabin will feature a queen berth, ensuite head and plenty of stowage. A second stateroom is an option. Below, she will have a U-shaped galley to port and an L-shaped settee with a dinette to starboard.

The salon will feature a U-shaped settee and dinette abaft the helm station to starboard. To port will be a large sofa. A variety of soft goods packages will be optional. The cockpit will have a large L-shaped settee with dinette tables and access to a big swim platform.

BB52

The BB52 is similar to the 44, but at 56 feet, 9 inches LOA with a beam of 16 feet, 3 inches, everything will be larger.
