Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, who in 1969 became the first person to sail single-handed and non-stop around the globe, finished third in the recent Route du Rhum, a 3,542-mile solo trans-Atlantic race from France to Guadeloupe. The 75-year-old has vowed to return for the next race, in 2018, with a smaller boat than his 14-year-old Open 60, aptly named Grey Power.
