The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is huge, and organizers say that this year’s 60anniversary edition, which runs from Wednesday, October 30, through Sunday, November 3, will be the biggest ever. Judging by the numbers, it sounds like they’re not blowing smoke:

4,000,000,000 dollars (that’s 4 billion) in products displayed

110,000 visitors expected

1,500 boats in the water

1,200 exhibitors

1,000 private planes delivering visitors

300 dollars per day for VIP access (includes food, bar, cigar lounge and water taxi)

34 dollars for general admission

13 boats exhibited at the first FLIBS in 1959

7 locations for this year’s show

6 miles of floating docks

Soundings will be at the show and we will provide daily updates about some of the new models to be exhibited at the event, including the Palm Beach 70, the Lexus LY 650, the eco-friendly Silent 55, the Viking 46 Billfish, Beneteau’s 41 Swift Trawler, the 48 Wallytender, Zar 95 SL, two new models from Boston Whaler, and more.
