AquaPalooza is deemed a success
More than 230 boats and about 1,000 boaters joined Clarks Landing July 3 in Chester, Md., to share in the fun at the fourth annual AquaPalooza.
Held on Conquest Beach on the Chester River, Clarks Landing’s AquaPalooza 2010 was a huge success, organizers say.
The weather was picture-perfect, the winds were calm and the water was jellyfish-free. There were boats as far as the eye could see, all rafted up together with boaters of all ages enjoying the boating lifestyle. Participants enjoyed a disc jockey, followed by live musical entertainment, complimentary food and drinks, giveaways, games and dinghy rides compliments of Annapolis Boat Sales.
“It was so good to see hundreds of boaters with all makes and models of boats rafting up together for this exciting event,” says Jeff Truesdale, general manager of Clarks Landing.
Canvas bags mirror a mariner’s local charts

Sea Ray 40 joins Florida yacht charter fleet
A Sea Ray 40 motoryacht named Keim Away II has joined the charter fleet of Southwest Florida Yachts for up to six adults to explore the Gulf and inland waters of the famous Sanibel-Captiva area on the southwest coast of Florida
Keim Away II has elegant styling and roomy sleeping accommodations for six in two cabins and the open main salon. The cockpit doubles as an entertainment center with a wet bar/sink with refrigerator, AM/FM stereo, and a flat-screen TV. Three other flat panel TV sets are located in the cockpit area and two cabins.
Kem Away II will be docked with 11 other power cruisers from 28 to 43 feet at Marinatown Marina in North Fort Myers. Marinatown Marina provides quick cruising access, via the Caloosahatchee River, to the sheltered Gulf ICW. The company’s sailing charter fleet is based at Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda.
Keim Away II charters for $3,789 for five days in the high season and $3,030 in summer and qualifies for extra cruising days and discounts. Charters of three days or more between January and June 2011 qualify for an 11 percent discount.
