The Foiler may look like a fugitive from the set of a 007 film, but it’s a hybrid diesel-electric “flying yacht” that rides 5 feet off the surface on four carbon fiber hydrofoils. Twin BMW diesels drive two generators to provide electric power, which is transferred to two electric “torpedoes” that propel the boat.
