Brunswick Corporation made a big splash at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas by launching Veer, a new boat brand created to support electronic propulsion, and showcasing the Veer X13, the first of the Veer boats. The Veer line was created to appeal to a future generation of boaters who want to keep the marine environment in mind.
The X13 comes in at 13-feet LOA and is made from rotomolded polyethylene. The X13 comes standard with electric power, using the Mercury Avator 7.5e electric propulsion system. Gas propulsion, using Mercury four-stroke outboards is optional, but the Veer brand encourages the sustainable, and zero emission choice of the Avator series. Also released at CES was the Fathom e-power system, a lithium-ion power system that offers electric energy storage.
In a press release, Brunswick CEO Dave Foulkes said, “Innovation is what drives Brunswick forward and what excites others to join us as we craft a better, more sustainable future.”
The X13 includes a galvanized trailer and a portable navigation light kit as standard. Optional upgrades include a shallow-water anchor and SportTrak accessories.
According to Brunswick, the X13 was crafted by the engineering team at Lund Boats to make boating more accessible and affordable. Available to order for Spring 2023, the X13 is priced at just under $12,000.
