Adventure boats have become increasingly popular and many of them come from Scandinavia, but now Brunswick, which already builds 18 different boat brands, has joined with a new adventure boat line of its own.

Called Navan, the new brand of luxury adventure boats was revealed at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The Navan C30 cabin model and the Navan S30 open bow/cuddy model will make their U.S. debuts at the Miami International Boat Show in February.

“What we identified as more of an unmet need was really also more stability in the boat and also more of a family functionality,” said Brunswick Boat Group President Aine Denari, “So a bigger cabin and more space for entertainment.”

The Navans look like their Scandinavian brethren (think Axopar, Saxdor, XO Boats and Nimbus) and have the same low, plumb-bow look, walkaround deckhouse, hardtop with sunroof and double-stepped hulls with outboard performance.

The cabin version has a double berth in the bow with an enclosed head, easy side-deck access, a compact galley with an electric grill, a sink and a stove.

The open model offers similar features, but one of Denari’s favorite aspects is seating aft of the helm that can face forward or backwards.

“When you want to have more of an entertainment space, the seat flips back, you’ve got a grill and a sink in there and now you have a nice open entertainment space where you can comfortably have six people sitting facing each other,” said Denari.

Brunswick will offer the Navans with a single 300-hp Mercury outboard, a single 400-hp Mercury outboard, two 225-hp Mercury outboards, or two 300-hp Mercury outboards.
