Stingray Boat recently added a new model to its line: the 20SBX, or Sand Bar Extreme. With a base price of $49,995, the 20-footer is targeted at entry-level buyers in search of an affordable, trailerable day boat.

Designed for up to 10 passengers, the 20SBX showcases a new design language for the builder. The boat rides on the company’s proven Z-Plane hull, a patented design that uses planar surfaces to create a smooth, bubble-free flow of water from bow to stern that enhances efficiency and speed. A notched transom reduces drag to deliver better propeller bite and stability

The boat measures 20 feet, 3 inches in length and has an 8-foot, 6-inch beam. Power is a 150-hp outboard.

“The 20SBX represents where boating is headed: modern, functional, and fun,” said Mike Youngblood, Stingray’s vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement. “We’ve taken everything people love about Stingray—agility, efficiency and value—and wrapped it in a bold new design that’s as beautiful as it is capable.”

Key features include a custom billet-machined windshield, 12-inch Simrad display, and stain-resistant vinyl seating.

The boat is available in two configurations: one with a Bimini top and another with a watersports tower.

Stingray Boats, based in Hartsville, South Carolina, builds recreational powerboats from roughly 17 to 27 feet, including deck boats, dual consoles, center consoles and performance models. The lineup is geared toward family cruising, fishing and watersports, with outboard or sterndrive power options.
