All-new from XO Boats is the EXPLR 44, the new flagship which debuted this week on a private island in the Finnish archipelago outside Helsinki. The adventure yacht measures 43-feet long overall with a beam of 12 feet, 1 inch and a modest draft of 3 feet, 5 inches.

In true Nordic style, the 44 features an owner’s cabin with a large double bed, a head with a shower compartment, plenty of light, and plenty of stowage. The aft cabin can be configured as an atrium, two single beds, or as a large double with its own head. Large rear-facing windows belowdecks allow for ample light.

Sunbeds can be found at the transom and bow for those who want to relax in the sun. Space on the hardtop roof can be configured for solar panels or bikes and other sports gear.

The 44 can be equipped with one of two power options: triple 450-hp engines, or twin 600-hp engines, for a maximum of 1350 horsepower. During her speed tests, the 44 reached a top speed of 50 knots. According to reports from the builder, her cockpit noise level was measured at 72 decibels (less than the noise produced by most cars).

The adventure-yacht features an aluminum hull and superstructure, making the vessel highly sustainable and durable for generations.
