Pacific Asian Enterprises has begun construction on a brand-new model, the Nordhavn 41. The 41-footer will replace the builder’s popular Nordhavn 40, whichholds the world record for the fastest circumnavigation by a production powerboat.

With a low profile, the new design will be CE Certified Category A Ocean (winds up to 40 knots and waves of over 13 feet). Twin Kubota 75-hp diesels, which have been marinized by Beta, and a bow thruster will be standard. Nordhavn says these engines routinely run 20,000 hours in generator applications. Stabilization will come from ABT Trac 220 stabilizers with 6-square-foot fins and a 4,000-pound lead ballast keel.

The Nordhavn 41 will be available with one or two staterooms. A 12-foot center console tender can be accommodated on deck and an 800-pound davit is standard.

The 41 was designed and engineered by Nordhavn. The hull design was then optimized by Vripack Yacht Design in the Netherlands. Vripack predicts a top speed of 9.5 knots and a range of 8,232 miles at 6 knots.

Two hulls have already been ordered, and the 41 will be built at a brand-new partner factory in Turkey. The first completed hull will debut at the 2020 Dusseldorf Show.

Because the boat will come out of a Turkish facility, Nordhavn suggests new owners pick up their boats there, cruise through the Mediterranean, and then ship their vessel from Gibraltar to Florida. Shipping across the Atlantic Ocean is included in the purchase price.
