The 410 Sundancer replaces Sea Ray’s 390 and 400 Sundancers, bringing a climate-controlled enclosed bridge with a large opening hardtop and a second head to the smallest model in the builder’s sport yacht line.“The boat is all about flexibility,” says Sea Ray vice president of sport yacht and yacht sales Larry Krestan. “For the cruising couple, you can get the boat with a single stateroom, two heads and a midcabin, or a two-stateroom, two-head layout for the cruising family.”

The 410 can be ordered with an open hardtop or enclosed bridge. “The 410 Sundancer was designed to adapt to the needs of customers around the country and around the world,” says Sea Ray vice president of sales and marketing Mike Burke.
Another design improvement is larger windows in the hull sides for more natural light in the cabin, says Krestan. For comfort, the head of the bed in the master stateroom inclines electrically with the push of a button. Standard equipment includes a 9-kW Onan diesel generator, a full-height refrigerator/freezer, entertainment center with flat-screen television, cockpit wet bar, anchor washdown and an integral swim platform with a concealed stainless ladder.
Sea Ray will install conventional diesels or Zeus pod drives with joystick control. With the Zeus setup, the optimal cruise speed is around 30 mph (2,700 rpm). The twin 380-hp Cummins MerCruiser Diesel QSB5.9 high-output engines burn 30 gallons per hour at this rpm for about 1 mpg. The boat also gets about 1 mpg at its wide-open speed of 35 mph.
All five models in the sport yacht fleet are offered with Zeus pod propulsion, says Krestan. Owners like the maneuverability of the joystick control, as well as the station-keeping Skyhook feature, Krestan says. Plus, many like how the boats handle at planing speeds, thanks to the independently articulating pod drives.
