A new documentary film titled “The Whale” chronicles the live of Luna, an orphaned orca that captivated the residents of Vancouver Island for five years beginning in 2001.

The film is an expanding version of a 2008 documentary by British Columbia-based directors Suzanne Chisholm and Michael Parfit.

One scene shows Luna sidling up to a non-running outboard engine and emulating the sound of the motor with her blowhole.
