A U.S. court sentenced two more Somali pirates to life in prison on Monday for the hijacking of a cruising yacht off the coast of Africa in February that left four Americans on board dead.

“A life sentence sends a strong message to anyone who chooses to engage in piracy against U.S. interests that they will face severe consequences,” U.S. attorney Neil MacBride said after the sentencing in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Department of Justice issued a press release stating that two Somalis who pled guilty to piracy under the law of nations have been sentenced to life in prison. A second press release states that two more Somalis were sentenced to life in prison following their guilty pleas to piracy under the law of nations for their involvement in the same hijacking.
