Visitors to the 12th annual Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors show in Rockland had three sunny days to view custom-built power and sailboats, fine art and jewelry, solid marine gear and engines, energy systems and furniture.
Special exhibits included the “Genius of Herreshoff” tribute to the Herreshoff 12-1/2 and its many siblings and offshoots; a “Smart, Small Homes” section, complete with pallet house and timber frame options; and “Hall of Fame” docks, where classic sheer lines were on display.
Nautical and home exhibitors that included real estate, outdoor furniture, antiques and home wares, including a “Maine Made: America’s Best” section, were in the largest tent the show has ever used.
Furniture makers, custom cabinetry shops, decorative items, kitchen and bath fittings, fine jewelry, crafts and artwork were sheltered under tents, as well, and other boat and home exhibitors displaying dinghies, scooters, all-wheel-drive vehicles and a portable sauna were arrayed outside around the show grounds.
The show is held annually during the second weekend of August in Rockland (the 2015 dates are Aug. 7-9) and produced by Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors magazine. The show attracts thousands of people from around the country and the world.
