Curiously named, The Yacht Week is actually a summer-long festival held annually on Croatia’s island-dotted Adriatic Sea coast, and it’s known for wild parties and a weekly regatta that pits enthusiastic amateur sailors with varying streaks of competitiveness.
Sometimes, while racing in close quarters, one of the weekend skippers bites off a little more wind than he can handle.
The less-than-precise tacking is understandable because regatta winners are chosen based on a combination of “sailing time, atmosphere on board, and clothing and decorations.” It should go without saying that the winners are not announced until the party that follows.
