DiMillo’s Yacht Sales has acquired key assets of Hunt Yachts from Hinckley Yachts, a move that reshapes stewardship of one of New England’s most respected semi-custom brands while ensuring continuity for its loyal owner base.

DiMillo’s, a leading yacht service company in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, also secured an exclusive license from Ray Hunt Design to build and market boats under the Hunt name. For longtime Hunt owners, the arrangement signals that the brand’s hallmark deep-V pedigree and seakeeping DNA will remain intact under new leadership.

“We were honored to have been asked by the team at Hinckley and Hunt Yachts to explore this opportunity,” said Chris DiMillo, who founded the company in Portland, Maine. “As a Hunt owner myself, I have a deep personal appreciation for the brand’s design, performance and heritage. It is both an honor and a privilege to be the steward of this iconic brand going forward. My team is ecstatic about this next chapter—what Hunt Yachts will bring to DiMillo’s, and what we will bring to the brand and Hunt Yachts family.”

Under the new structure, Hunt Yachts by DiMillo’s will continue to offer the Ocean Series, spanning 56 to 76 feet in both flybridge and express configurations. Construction will remain with Global Yacht Builders in Taiwan, which has produced the line since 2008. Several builds are already underway, including multiple 56- and 63-foot flybridge models.

For Hinckley, the divestment allows a sharper focus on its core operations while placing Hunt with a company deeply rooted in the same coastal markets that helped define the brand.

“DiMillo’s is exceptionally well positioned to carry Hunt Yachts forward, and we’re genuinely pleased to see the brand in their hands,” said Hinckley CEO Gavin McClintock. “They bring deep expertise, longstanding customer relationships, and a shared commitment to quality that aligns naturally with Hunt’s heritage.”

The timing of the announcement coincides with the Palm Beach International Boat Show, where DiMillo’s is displaying a Hunt 63 Flybridge.
