Built in 1888 in England, Fremad II spent the majority of her life fishing for herring and crab among the rugged Norwegian fjords. Today she’s getting a new lease on life at the Hardanger Ship Preservation Center in Vågå, Norway.

Crews have already replaced many of her frames, large expanses of hull planking, her stern and are now working on replacing her deck planks. It’s a more difficult and intricate process than you’d imagine, as this video shows.

You can read more about the process here and here.
