MJM has announced its latest model, the MJM 42, a 46-foot, 8-inch performance cruiser.
The Carolina-based builder says the 42 will be available with twin 600-hp Mercury outboards or a choice of twin Volvo 400 or 440-hp inboards with DPI drives. Top speed is advertised as somewhere around 44 knots depending on power option.
The boat will feature a business-class helm sofa, large, opening front, side and aft windows, a galley-up design with a U-shaped dining area and an oversized, integrated beach deck.
Down below, a hide-away door and bulkhead system create an open floor plan that turns the belowdecks area into what MJM calls “a luxury hotel suite for two” complete with a lounge area. It also includes an amidship berth.
The 42 includes an enhanced hull design. The 42 is the result of a collaboration with Michael Peters and based on actual live-aboard experiences from what MJM Yachts considers its finest couples cruising boat, the MJM 40.
