Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding Co. of Thomaston, Maine, announces an addition to its Hood series of New England-style powerboats. The 46 LM is the fourth model in the series and is scheduled to launch this summer. Like its sisterships, the 46 is designed in partnership with Chris Hood of CW Hood Yachts.

“The Hood 46 LM represents everything we love about building boats at Lyman-Morse—honoring our tradition of craftsmanship while embracing innovation that elevates the owner’s experience,” said Drew Lyman, president of Lyman-Morse. “This model reflects the synergy we’ve built with Chris Hood over the years and showcases what’s possible when design, performance, and artisanal detail come together with intention.”

Positioned between the Hood 42 and the 57, the 46 combines the series’ signature styling with composite construction and the detailing that Lyman-Morse is known for. Owners have access to some degree of customization too.

The 46 is based on a proven hull design with a curved forefoot and fine entry. A wide chine flat and moderate 20-degree transom deadrise create predictable handling in many sea conditions. The boat’s lines are refined by a raked stem forward and tumblehome aft—signature features of the Hood series.

The cockpit has an aft-facing settee, L-shaped lounge with a pedestal table, and a retractable awning for shade. There’s also a starboard boarding door for access from the dock and a transom door that leads to the swim platform with tender launching system.

The enclosed pilothouse extends the cruising season. A single-piece windshield, power windows and sunroof connect passengers to the outdoors. Belowdecks is a single stateroom. Interiors are by Rhoades Young, a firm that’s collaborated with custom builders such as Royal Huisman, Nautor Swan and Yachting Developments.
