Decatur, Indiana-based builder Formula Boats will introduce two new center console models in February—the 457 Sport and Fish models. The boats will make their public debut at the 2024 Miami International Boat Show.

Known primarily for designing luxury family dayboats and bowriders, Formula re-entered the center console market after a long absence with the release of the 387 Center Console about a year ago. The series now expands with the addition of the 457, which has an LOA of 45 feet 7 inches and a 13-foot, 9-inch beam.

“Unmistakably a Formula from near or afar, the 457’s bloodline is evident in its looks, performance, amenities, engineering and fit and finish,” says Scott Smith, the company’s marketing manager. “This model is destined to set itself apart from others in its class, and we cannot wait to show it off.”

Both the Sport and Fish models will be powered by triple Mercury 600-hp Verado V12 outboards.

Holding around 700 gallons of fuel, each vessel will have considerable cruising range and fast cruising speeds, according to Formula, though these specifics have not yet been released. At the helm are three 22-inch screens. A trio of chairs face the helm, and there’s a second row of seats behind it, all with access to air conditioning. There’s more room for passengers forward, with an elevated sun lounger and wraparound seating in the bow.

The Sport and Fish models are differentiated by their key features and amenities. Both boats are offered with a hardtop, but the Fish model can also be ordered with an upper helm station, which can help the captain locate fish more easily. Owners who want to spend more time cruising and entertaining will like the sculpted aft lounge and spacious swim platform on the Sport. Conversely, the cockpit on the Fish can be set up with a seat that folds into the transom to give anglers more room to tend to lines. Pressurized baitwells are on that model too. The cockpit galley can be designed for entertainment or fishing, serving as a bait station or wetbar.

Belowdecks, both versions of the 457 have 6 feet 6 inches of headroom, a galley, a U-shaped lounge with a table that converts to a double berth, and a private head with separate shower.
