Dutch submersible builder U-Boat Worx released their Super Sub at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show. The submarine is one of the few private submersibles on the market and can carry three passengers up to 984 feet below the surface.
The sub can reach 11 mph which is faster than a bottlenose dolphin swims. Ascending and descending is made easier by inclining the sub, up to 45 degrees. At the front of the sub is an acrylic pressure hull, allowing for full sightlines.

In the wake of the Titan Submarine accident this year, U-Boat highlights the safety features of their Super Sub. The ‘maximum depth protection’ feature will not allow pilots to descend past the maximum operating depth. Another feature is the Safety Buoy, which, like a diver’s flag marks the submarine’s location on the surface. The submarine is also equipped with at least 96 hours of life support.
The starting price for the sub is 5.45 million dollars. The first Super Sub will be delivered to its owner by the end of this year. More units will be available in 2024.
