The Beneteau Swift Trawler 48 made its world debut at the 2022 Miami International Boat Show and at 48 feet, 4 inches LOA is now the largest model in the company’s Swift trawler range.

The standard pair of Cummins QSB 6.7-liter 380-hp engines allows a top speed of 21 knots. With its 510-gallon fuel tank, the 48’s range is well over 600 nautical miles at 9 knots or 280 nautical miles at 18 knots. The optional 425-hp engines give it a top speed of about 25 knots.

Inside there is a large L-shaped galley to port with a full-height 67-gallon fridge with freezer and large overhead lockers. The standard galley has a gas oven or optional multi-function electric oven, a “magic corner” pull-out stowage unit, and cupboards and drawers while still allowing space for an optional dishwasher. The Corian countertop features a gas or induction cooktop and a large sink. Opposite the galley is a sideboard with cupboards and an interior bottle rack.

The 48 has a starboard helm and a C-shape settee that converts to a double berth. The full walkaround decks have high bulwarks that provide good access and safety. The starboard deck is wider than the port one. A sliding door next to the lower helm provides access to the side deck, a helpful feature when docking or anchoring.

Down below, the 48 has three staterooms and two heads. The forward master cabin has a double berth with access from either side. Headroom and bed length are 6 feet, 6 inches. Overhead lockers and wardrobes provide ample stowage. Large hull windows with inset portlights and an overhead hatch flood the cabin with natural light and cross ventilation.

The aft cockpit has a large transverse bench seat and can fit a table and two folding chairs. The transom double gate opens onto a large swim platform with an optional hydraulic lifting system able to carry a 770-pound tender. The optional sunpad on the foredeck can be converted to forward seating.

The flybridge has multiple forward-facing seats by the helm plus table seating. An optional flybridge T-top with an inset sliding soft-top is available. Aft, there is a wet bar and space for sun loungers, paddleboards, or other water accessories.

Soundings will be providing a full sea trial of the Beneteau Swift Trawler 48 in a future issue.
