World-renowned yacht builder Grand Banks has introduced a new cruising yacht to its lineup: the Grand Banks 62. The long-distance cruising yacht, designed by Grand Banks Yachts CEO Mark Richards, builds on the success of the GB60, which launched in 2017.

The GB62 utilizes the company’s V-Warp technology that’s characterized by a hull with a fine entry of just 6 degrees and minimal deadrise at the transom. The hull of the GB62 is constructed and infused with a precise ratio of resin to E-Glass for weight savings and increased speed and range.

The main deck, salon, helm and aft galley feature many large opening windows for solid sightlines. The owner’s stateroom is amidships and has a king-sized bed with an en suite head and shower. Forward is the VIP stateroom with a private head. The starboard guest stateroom has an athwartships double and single bed, and en suite head. A utility area incorporates the washer/dryer system that is standard.

A Skylounge model of the GB62 will also be available, which will incorporate a dedicated living space. The extended bridge overhang creates a storage space for a standard AB Inflatable RIB.

Standard power for the GB62 is a pair of 900-hp Volvo D13 engines with Twin Disc MGX 5096A marine transmissions. Power options include two 1,000-hp Volvo D13 engines or Volvo IPS 1200s, rated at 900 hp each.

Engine selection will determine speed and cruising range. When equipped with standard power, the GB62 offers a top speed in the 30-knot range, according to the builder. Cruising at 10 knots will provide a range of 2,000 nautical miles.
