A new video captures the unique scene of a ship that had split in half, yet its forward half remained floating, on fire while under tow.
The Indian coast guard pollution response vessel Samudra Prahari arrived on the scene to assist in the firefighting efforts on the fore section of the MOL Comfort.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, the firm towing Comfort, reported Saturday that a fire had broken out on the rear end of the fore part of the vessel.
This is the second significant setback to befall the salvors after the stern of the vessel sank in heavy seas on June 27.
