In Norway, about 30 people per year die in recreational boating accidents. About a quarter of those deaths involve alcohol. In 2015, a Norwegian non-profit organization, AV-OG-TIL, commissioned a video to encourage sober boating.
The video, of a boater performing an impressive docking procedure, went viral.
Because of its success, it was followed by a boat launching video and also a dance video.
In 2018, the lead character meets his female match in a video called, look who’s docking now.
In total, in Norwegian and English, the videos have been viewed more than 30 million times.
