This year, Boot Düsseldorf celebrates its 55th anniversary as the largest indoor boat show in the world. Over 68 countries will be represented at the show that takes place on the banks of the Rhine in Germany beginning tomorrow. From engines to yachting equipment and even maritime art, the show offers something for everyone. Here are five boats making their global debut at the show.

Mayla GT

While it may not look like it, the Mayla GT is in fact a boat, not a spaceship. The 44-foot vessel utilizes a Deep-V hull with transverse deflectors from Sweden’s Petestep and is made from carbon-fiber, allowing it to be ultra-light to maximize high speeds. Because the vessel weighs just 9,000-lbs, it can accelerate very quickly, giving it a ‘slingshot’ effect. The Mayla GT is powered by twin 650-hp Corvette V8 engines, with the option of V8s up to 1,500 hp.

Saxdor 400 GTC

The 400 GTC from Saxdor is the builder’s closed version of its GTO flagship model. Now offered as an open or closed design, the 400 measures 40 feet overall. The cockpit opens on three sides, making it excellent for entertaining and watersports, or some extra space when anchored. The enclosed pilothouse option is a bit more family friendly and can cruise in all types of weather. Like the GTO, power comes from twin 300-, 350-, or 400-hp Mercury Marine V10 outboards.

Omikron OT-60

Greek builder Omikron will launch its 60-foot motor yacht, the Omikron OT-60, which per the builder, “feels like a sailboat.” Ideally, the Omikron OT-60 is perfect for island-hopping and adventure-style cruising with a smooth, quiet ride. The vessel was designed by Milan sailboat designer Lorenzo Argento and boasts a massive beam of 20 feet. This spaciousness allows for large accommodations and living space belowdecks. Power comes from twin 150 or 250-hp Yanmar diesels for a cruising speed of 8 knots with a range of over 1,000 nautical miles.

Steeler 50S Trans-Atlantic

Designed for long-distance cruising and true offshore adventure, the Steeler 50S Trans-Atlantic was designed by the Dutch builder Steeler Yachts. Made from aluminum and featuring Magnus retractable rotor stabilizers for rough seas, the 50S TA is powered by twin 600-hp Volvo D8 turbodiesels. This hull in particular was designed for a German cruising couple who plan to travel from the Cape Verde Islands in Africa to Barbados in the Caribbean. The 50S TA has a 1,320-gallon fuel capacity and a Wingit-Kite system on the foredeck. The Wingit-Kite system uses wind power to help pull the vessel along.

Galvani Ventisei-e

Sleek lines and almost-silent, zero-emissions electric day boats are on the rise, and the Galvani Ventisei-e is no exception. From Holland’s Galvani Boats, the Ventisei-e is based off designs from Holland’s renowned open dayboats and measures 26 feet long. Available in two versions, owners can choose from a 10kWh electric motor, powered by a 30kWh battery, or a 100kWh motor with a 64kWh battery pack. Cruising hours vary between the two options, though the 100kWh motor offers higher speeds. The electric power trains used in the vessels were designed by the Dutch-based brand, Bellmarine.
