The all-new Legacy 12, the first edition of the Mark II Series from Tartan Legacy Yachts will be built by Seattle Yachts and be launched in late 2024.
In the spring of 2020, Tartan Legacy Yachts was acquired by Seattle Yachts’ Marine Manufacturing Group (MMG). Originally, the Legacy 12 was to be built at the Tartan facility in Fairport, Ohio, but subsequently manufacturing was moved to the MMG yard in Anacortes, Washington, where the company’s Northern Marine’s 57- to 85-foot trawlers are built.
At 38-feet, 10-inches LOA and with a beam of 12 feet, 6 inches, the Legacy 12 is designed to be a compact motor yacht for coastal cruising, island hopping and the Great Loop. Utilizing a moderate deep-V hull, the vessel is constructed of infused vinylester fiberglass laminate reinforced with carbon fiber and kevlar.

The Legacy 12 features a galley-up layout on the helm deck and a cockpit that includes a BBQ, icemaker, and sink options. Below, the Legacy 12 has a forward owner’s cabin with a reading/lounging area to port, and a head with a shower stall to starboard. The owner’s cabin can be fully closed off by sliding doors for privacy. Owners may also opt for a twin-berth cabin in place of the reading/lounging area. The cockpit features an adjustable dining table with storage below the seats and the bow features a sunpad.

Standard power comes from twin 300-hp Yamaha or Mercury outboards, though owners can opt for more power. With standard power, the Legacy 12 cruises at 30 knots and tops out at 35 knots. Other power options include twin 400-hp outboards, or twin 300-hp diesel outboards. The 400-hp outboards raise the cruising speed to 35 knots, and the top speed to 45 knots.
Optional features include a dishwasher, water maker, Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizer and more.
The Legacy 12 will be launched at Seattle Yachts’ MMG facility in Anacortes, Washington.
