The Salty Dawg Rally cruising rally, which has grown to be the most popular of its kind on the Eastern Seaboard, recently announced its fall seminar schedule.

This year’s slate is the largest and most comprehensive agenda of seminars offered by the Salty Dawg Rally, according to co-founders Bill & Linda Knowles.

Seminars will be held at the sailboat shows in Newport and Annapolis, and in Hampton, Va., prior to the departure of the Salty Dawg fleet for the Caribbean. The seminar series objectives are to further sailors’ knowledge and skills for safe offshore bluewater passages and to better experience the joys of long-term cruising.

These seminars are free for Salty Dawg participants and any other interested bluewater sailors. The Newport and Annapolis seminars require reservations because seating is limited. To reserve a seat, contact [email protected].

The series starts with a day of free seminars at The Edward King House in Newport, R.I., on Sept. 16, the day before the start of the Newport International Boat Show.

The Salty Dawg Rally is composed of bluewater sailors who have completed at least one bluewater passage. The rally leaves Hampton, Va., and other East Coast ports in the fall, headed for the British Virgin Islands and other ports in the Caribbean, and returns in the spring.
