A Georgia man was found not guilty of homicide by vessel in a boating accident on Lake Lanier that killed two boys, but was convicted of other charges and was sentenced to 2-1/2 years of prison.
Paul Bennett was found guilty of boating under the influence, reckless driving of a vessel and not rendering aid.
Bennett’s recreational fishing boat collided with a pontoon boat on June 18, 2012, killing 9-year-old Jake Prince and 13-year-old Griffin Prince.
