Twin Vee Powercat of Fort Pierce, Florida recently announced its GFX2 model line, a “second generation” of Twin Vee’s popular GFX catamarans. The success of the company’s flagship 400 GFX model inspired the second generation of the GFX line.
“The hull is proven,” says Preston Yarborough, Vice President and Director of Product development at Twin Vee, “The lifting strakes, reverse chine and twin hull design, with just enough air induction between the hulls to aerate the water, give Twin Vee cats a super soft entry, no slamming and minimal sneezing.”

The new line was designed in conjunction with engineer Greg McLogan, integrating a brand-new digital control system without changing the overall look of the boats. All future Twin Vee molds will be created using 5-Axis CNC router technology for higher precision.
The GFX2 line reimagines the console as a “command center,” which will feature a 24-inch multifunction display, phone app and digital switching, and simplified control of the boats’ systems. Optional features will include FLIR thermal vision, a fish finding transducer pack, autonomous navigation and a Rhodan HD GPS Anchor+ trolling motor.

At the helm is a tempered glass windshield with a re-designed T-top with D-shaped aluminum supports. Both the helm and bow seats have been upgraded with sport stitch patterns. The bow seats will have forward facing backrests that are removable for fishing. A fresh water macerated head is standard on all models in the GFX2 line.
The GFX2 line boasts more rod holders, recirculating live wells (up to 50 gallons on smaller models—100 gallons on the 40), more tackle storage, deck fish boxes, and larger fuel tanks. For more space in the cockpit, the transom corner jump seats can flip up.
Twin Vee recommends twin Mercury, Yamaha or Suzuki engines with horsepower depending on the customer’s fishing or cruising style. Depending on the power package, owners can opt for electric or electric-hydraulic steering, and joystick controls are optional.
