Racing for the 35th America’s Cup will start with the Louis Vuitton qualifiers on May 26 in Bermuda.

The defending champion, Oracle Team USA, will eventually face one of five challengers in the championship races. The challengers are Artemis Racing (Sweden), Emirates Team New Zealand, Groupama Team France, Land Rover BAR (England) and SoftBank Team Japan.

The teams will sail 49-foot catamarans with hydrofoils, which have been clocked at 46 knots.

The Challenger Playoffs, scheduled for June 4, will determine which of the four top-scoring challengers from the Louis Vuitton qualifying races will face Oracle Team USA in the America’s Cup match, beginning June 17.
