Red Jacket V is a 38-foot sloop that owner John Funk likes to sail in local Maine regattas, such as this year’s Around Islesboro Race.
As summer waned, Funk took his boat for a spin on Penobscot Bay and had a buddy on a powerboat chase him to capture the boat’s graceful lines in motion.
The 31-year-old fiberglass sloop was built in Taiwan, but calls Stockton Springs, Maine, her home.
