Amazone, the 127-foot yacht once used by Winston Churchill arrived back in Britain for a restoration after being used as a houseboat in France. After 20 years of disuse, the yacht will undergo a major refit at the Pendennis Shipyard in Falmouth.

Amazone was originally built in 1936 at the British yard Thornycroft, as property of the British government, and was used by Winston Churchill. Since being built, Amazone has undergone three rebuilds and was part of Operation Dynamo when the British had to evacuate their army at Dunkirk, France, at the beginning of World War II.

The tri-deck yacht can host up to 60 guests, with overnight accommodations for 12 guests and eight crew. From a top deck Jacuzzi to a conference room, dining room and a 131-square-foot saloon, Amazone features all the comforts of a luxury home.

Power comes from twin Cummins 700-hp diesels, allowing her a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.
