Nautical photographer Onne van der Wal and his wife, Tenley, spent the past two years refitting Snow Goose, their 1986 Grand Banks 32, with the goal of taking her south for the winter. On November 13th, Onne began the fifth leg of their journey from Swansboro, North Carolina with his friend Hutch onboard. They traveled to the Barrier Islands for excellent photography and down the Waccamaw River. Surrounded by dense wetlands on the Waccamaw they witnessed beautiful sunrises, sunsets and flocks of birds.

The gallery and video captures some of the highlights of leg five. Soundings will cover Snow Goose’s run south, leg by leg, as she continues down the ICW and makes her way over to the Bahamas.
