Nautical photographer Onne van der Wal and his wife, Tenley, spent the past two years refitting Snow Goose, their 1986 Grand Banks 32, with the goal of taking her south for the winter. On November 23rd, the van der Wals began the sixth and last leg of their journey from Charleston, South Carolina. While traveling towards Savannah, Georgia they passed through Bennett’s Point, Beaufort and Bull Creek. Full of history, the van der Wal’s explored colonial homes, historical sites and had some great food.
The gallery and video captures some of the highlights of leg 6 in pictures. Soundings will cover Snow Goose’s run south, leg by leg, as she continues down the ICW and makes her way over to the Bahamas.
