The brand new M47 from Hylas Yachts is one of the first boats of its kind to feature diesel powered outboards. Equipped with twin Cox CXO300 diesel outboards, the M47 tops out at 31 knots and cruises at 17. With the standard 4-blade props, the M47 has a range of 1,000 miles, although with a larger fuel tank this can increase up to 1,500 miles.

The M47 is the first diesel outboard yacht offered to the American recreational yachting market. Diesel outboards are touted for their efficiency, reliability, and longevity. Cox offers a 5-year, 1,500-hour warranty and rates the engines at 6,000 hours of operation. For sailors converting from sailing yachts to powerboats, a diesel engine may be more familiar to them, potentially making the transition to a powerboat easier.

The M47 galley has two pull-out refrigerator units, a top-loading freezer, and a four-burner propane range with an oven and broiler. An aft galley window can be opened and secured for owners who want to feel the wind while they’re underway. The salon has a large L-shaped settee and teak table that can be converted to a berth. The M47 has a queen-sized master berth forward, amidship guest cabin and a single head.
