Highfield, a manufacturer of aluminum-hulled RIBs, launched its first fiberglass-hulled crossover last year with the 23-foot ADV7. This year, the builder adds a second Adventure model to its fleet with the 30-foot, 2-inch ADV9. It offers more space, range and overnight capability than the ADV7 while retaining the company’s signature DNA.

Designed for cruising into the shoulder seasons, the ADV9 has a climate-controlled area on deck  and accommodations for at least two people. In the cockpit is a galley with U-shaped dining area that converts to a double berth; it can be sheltered by an optional camper cover. In the bow is a large sunpad. Power options include a single 450-hp outboard or twin 300-hp outboards that can push the ADV9 to 50 knots. Cruising range is 300 nautical miles.

The ADV9 represents a continued evolution for Highfield Boats, a brand associated with rugged tenders and RIBs ranging from compact roll-ups to offshore-capable sport models. With the launch of the fiberglass Adventure series, the builder has broadened its appeal beyond the yacht-tender and utilitarian markets into the cruising segment.

Highfield boats are built at the company’s production facility in China. The builder also has a rigging and distribution facility in Cadillac, Michigan.
