In response to Covid-related public health concerns, the Connecticut Marine Trades Association (CMTA) has announced the cancellation of the 2022 Hartford Boat Show, which was scheduled for January 20 through January 23 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The 2022 event will not be rescheduled. Instead, the Connecticut Marine Trades Association has already begun its planning for the 2023 Hartford Boat Show.
“We are greatly disappointed to have had to make this decision,” said Bob Petzold, Committee Chairperson of the 2022 event and the owner of Petzold’s Marine Center in Portland, Connecticut. “However, with the rising number of Covid infections in the Northeast and across the nation, the safety of our exhibitors and the general public are what is most important right now.”
The 2022 Hartford Boat Show would have been the 52nd running of the event, which promotes recreational boating on Connecticut lakes, ponds, and waterways, including Long Island Sound. “We definitely plan to return in 2023 with a terrific show when it is safe for us all to do so,” said Tasha Cusson, Chairperson of the Connecticut Marine Trades Association and owner of Atlantic Outboard in Connecticut’s Westbrook Marine Center.
Those who had already purchased tickets will be reimbursed. More information can be found at www.HartfordBoatShow.com and at The Hartford Boat Show Facebook page.
