A 65-year-old Alabama man died Tuesday when he was nearly decapitated by a low-hanging power line as the bass boat in which he was riding passed near Independence Tube and Nucor Steel.
Alabama Marine Police were investigating the 5:15 p.m. accident on the Tennessee River in western Morgan County near Trinity. The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of family.
The victim, known to his fishing friends as “Ski Daddy,” was participating in a bass tournament held every Tuesday night out of Ingalls Harbor.
