The 2012 Connecticut Boater’s Guide cover contest seeks work from local artists depicting safe boating or water scenes in Connecticut to compete to be the cover art for the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s 2012 Connecticut Boater’s Guide.

Each year the DEEP publishes a Connecticut Boater’s Guide. The guide is a comprehensive, pocket-sized booklet containing updated laws and regulations, safety tips, coastal access points, and environmental information of interest to the boating public.

Approximately 92,000 copies will be printed and distributed statewide through marinas, town halls, libraries, and boating classes.

In addition to having their work featured on the cover, the winning artist will receive printed credit in the guide, be honored at an award reception, and be featured in a month-long public exhibition at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford beginning Nov. 1. A selection of other top submissions will be included in the exhibit space.

Artwork must be a representation of a Connecticut boating or water scene.
