Next fall there will be a new set of directors at the helm of The Boat School in Eastport, Maine. A local real estate company bought the school and the land it sits on from the city of Eastport.
The company plans to keep part of the acreage for a tidal turbines project and has donated the rest of the land and the school itself to the “Friends of The Boat School.” That organization now owns the school and will begin running boat-building classes next year.
