Saturday’s NFL playoff game between the Houston Texans and the Cincinnati Bengals will force a one-day suspension of the 56th annual Houston International Boat, Sport and Travel Show, the Gulf Coast’s largest outdoors-related consumer show, which runs Jan. 6-15 in the Reliant Center.
The show typically draws as many as 40,000 people on a Saturday, Ken Lovell, executive director of the Boating Trades Association of Metropolitan Houston, which organizes the event, told the Houston Chronicle.
“The parking situation would be just a total nightmare,” Lovell said.
Although boat show organizers would rather not have to lose one of their high-traffic days, “everybody’s pretty excited about the Texans being in the playoffs; it’s a great thing for Houston,” Lovell added.
