The International Yacht Restoration School’s School of Technology and Trades and the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association will host the annual Marine and Composites Industry Career Day on April 2 at the IYRS campus in Newport, R.I.
The one-day event is free and draws employers who attend to connect with people who have the skills and aptitude for careers in the marine and composites industries.
Attendees can meet employers from throughout the region and learn about training programs and the in-demand skills needed to build successful careers.
Career Day runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., but organizers said two valuable breakout sessions with experts will be held at IYRS before the event: “Navigating Your Job Search” at 9 a.m. and “What Brewer Yacht Yards Looks for in a Candidate” at 9:30 a.m.
