Brewer Essex Island Marina will host an “October Escape Weekend” from Oct. 3-5 at their location in Essex, Conn.
The event is scheduled to celebrate the marina’s recent addition to the Brewer Yacht Yard Group, the 24th in the regional marina chain founded by Jack Brewer.
Brewer Essex Island Marina will be offering free overnight dockage, morning coffee and pastries, a wine tasting event, and a live band Saturday evening during the Escape weekend.
“We are pleased to invite returning customers and those who have never stayed at Essex Island Marina to come and enjoy the weekend as guests of Brewer,” Doug Domenie, general manager of the adjacent Brewer Dauntless Shipyard and the new Brewer Essex Island Marina, said in a statement. “This is a very special place for many boaters and the only request we have is that they share with us their thoughts on what we should do with the marina and island. We envision great rendezvous events and family activities, and customer input is very important to us. We continue to be open for business and look forward to building on the traditions of a great resort destination.”
Essex Island Marina began in 1955 as a boat yard and a few slips but soon developed into a marina known for its amenities and services. The 13-acre private island on the lower Connecticut River is accessed by ferry operated by the marina and nestles close to shore in the quintessential New England town of Essex. In addition to the 125 slips in the marina, a pool, restaurant, lounges and other offerings, the island has indoor storage and full-service capabilities including a 30 Ton travel-Lift. A unique asset of the location is the amount of open space including grassy lawn, sandy beach and picnic areas.
Brewer Essex Island Marina continues to welcome rendezvous events and cruisers as well as seasonal and year-round customers. Reservations are welcome for this fall’s foliage season, winter storage and next summer slips.
