A U.S. federal judge issued a decision late on Tuesday that effectively dismissed more than 20,000 claims against private cleanup companies that responded to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010.
The order was issued by United States District Judge Carl J. Barbier for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.
