The Coast Guard Foundation said it is launching a fundraising campaign to support Coast Guard members and their families who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Working closely with the Coast Guard, the foundation said it will distribute funds to Coast Guard members stationed in affected areas of Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
“There are many great groups offering assistance to those who have been affected by this storm, and we support their work,” Coast Guard Foundation president Anne B. Brengle said in a statement.
“As an organization, we see the need — and have the resources — to help those who are serving in the United States Coast Guard. They should know that we are here for them and we will do everything we can to support them.”
Contributions can be made via the organization’s website at www.coastguardfoundation.org or by calling its office at (860) 535-0786.
Donations can also be mailed to: Coast Guard Foundation, 394 Taugwonk Road, Stonington, CT 06378.
