The Coast Guard’s Unified Command has started the decontamination of the New Bedford, Mass., commercial clamming boat that accidentally hauled up a canister of mustard sulfur.
The Coast Guard issued a Captain of the Port order June 7 for the vessel to be decontaminated after three of its crewmembers were taken to a local hospital and treated for symptoms of exposure to a hazardous/chemical substance.
