Divers have found a human skull deep inside the imfamous cruise ship Costa Concordia cruise ship during their search for an Indian waiter whose remains were never found.

Salvage experts said the skull could be that of Russel Rebello, the waiter from Mumbai, but alternatively might belong to Maria Grazia Trecarichi, a passenger from Sicily whose decapitated body was retrieved last October.

They were among the 32 passengers and crew who lost their lives when the Concordia capsized on the night of Jan 13, 2012, after its captain, Francesco Schettino, attempted to perform a “salute” to the island of Giglio.

The ship’s hull was ripped open by a rocky reef, causing it to capsize in shallow waters just outside Giglio’s tiny port.
