Rough waters kept the Coast Guard crew stationed in Fort Pierce, Fla., busy Sunday making several rescues. No one was injured seriously.
Large waves rocked a boat with three adults and a child on it at the Fort Pierce Inlet just before noon Sunday. About two hours earlier, a Coast Guard cutter fished five men out of the Fort Pierce Inlet who had been in a 17-foot boat swamped by poor weather.
“The waves were crashing over the bow of our boat,” Raymond Concepcion of the Coast Guard said. “We kind of just got close enough. We kind of got lucky.”
