Coast Guard crews in Wisconsin rescued four people from a sinking boat on Lake Michigan on Friday afternoon.

A distress call was picked up by Coast Guard watchstanders in Milwaukee around 1:45 p.m., WOOD TV8 News reports.

A boat about five miles off shore from Manitowoc, Wis., was quickly taking on water.

A rescue crew from the nearby Coast Guard station in Two Rivers, Wisc. which happened to be training in the area, was diverted to help and arrived on the scene less than five minutes after the mayday.
